Bug Fixes

• Fixed absolute path handling on macOS and Windows
  • When canonicalize() fails (which can happen on certain path configurations), fall back to manual component-based normalization to resolve .. components
  • Join relative paths with current working directory before attempting canonicalization
  • This fixes the issue where paths like ../../../../../../private/var/... were being returned instead of proper absolute paths

Testing

• Added comprehensive tests for absolute path handling
• Tests now run on all platforms (Linux, macOS, Windows) in CI
• Added pytest as dev dependency
