palatal diacritic ʲ currently overwrites features +dorsal +high -low +front -back. There are some phonemes whose base glyphs are already palatal and yet have that diacritic, like cçʲ and cʲ which at present are featurally indistinct from their base glyph counterparts cç and c.

I think there is also an issue of this diacritic overwriting the features that make other segments distinct; e.g., k vs q become featurally indistinct when palatalized (under our current features for ʲ).

@bambooforest : now that we have a manually-curated grapheme-to-feature mapping, this is no longer an issue of diacritics overwriting feature values, but it may still be the case that there are some collapsed contrasts lingering in the grapheme-to-feature mapping. Leaving open until that question is resolved.
