Release Notes - phpBB Migration Center v1.0.0-beta.3

We are pleased to announce the release of phpBB Migration Center v1.0.0-beta.3. This release brings comprehensive support for MyBB 1.8 and vBulletin 3.8 / 4.2, automatic nested-set forum hierarchy repair, full phpBB extension metadata compliance, and a 100% green automated CI test suite across PHP 7.4 through PHP 8.3.

A complete end-to-end migration pipeline for MyBB 1.8 forums:

Users & Credentials: Dual-salted MD5 password hashing with automatic transparent rehashing to native phpBB Argon2id/Bcrypt upon initial login.
Forums & Structure: Topological parent-first hierarchy ordering with nested set calculation.
Topics & Posts: BBCode conversions (MyBB [video], [align], spoiler tags, etc.), view counts, poll attachments, and post reactions.
Attachments & Avatars: Post attachments, custom avatar physical path resolution, and secure file mapping.
Private Messages: Multi-recipient conversations, message tracking, folder mapping (inbox, sent, drafts, trash), and PM attachments.
Polls & Votes: Single and multiple-choice polls, option sorting, and historical vote attribution.
Permissions & Bans: Forum permission masks, IP bans, email bans, and account suspension synchronization.

Full support for both classic vB 3.8.x and modern vB 4.2.x database schemas.
Specialized dual-salt MD5 password driver (vb_hasher) with auto-rehash support.
Recursive attachment storage resolution (filesystem paths and database BLOB storage).
Automatic exclusion of irrelevant CMS/Blog article data while maintaining thread continuity.

Root Cause Fixed: Resolved the issue where imported categories appeared as empty blue bars on the phpBB index due to uncalculated left_id and right_id tree bounds.
Added topological parent-first sorting during step processing (forums_step.php).
Implemented rebuild_forum_tree() and recalc_nested_sets() in the finalization phase, guaranteeing correct nested set indices (left_id, right_id) on phpBB 3.3.x.

Fixed the fatal error: The “phpbbseo/migrationcenter” extension is not valid. Required meta field version has not been set.
Preserved "version": "1.0.0" in composer.json for full phpBB metadata_manager compatibility.
Updated GitHub Actions workflow with composer validate --no-check-version --strict to prevent conflicting Packagist metadata warnings while enforcing strict schema validation.

Implemented standalone phpBB password driver mocks (tests/ci_runner.php) to enable complete test coverage in headless, standalone CI runners without requiring a live phpBB core.
Made vb_config_detector_test.php fully isolated with temporary directory fixtures, preventing connection timeouts and missing local environment failures.
Automated Matrix: All test runs passing on PHP 7.4, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3.
