Cosmetic fixes in the panel, found by using it the way anyone else would.
Nothing here changes what the parser computes.

Fixed

  • A lone dot from the editor selection was taken for a formula and drew an
empty curve. A line is now taken as a formula when something in it can yield
a value - a letter or a digit. pi and exp stay formulas; punctuation on
    its own does not.

  • The ^ sign is called out where it means exclusive-or rather than a power.
Written between two values it almost always means a power was intended, and
the status line says ^ is not a power - use x ** 2. The bar is narrow, so
the note is kept to what the reader has to do; the whole sentence stays in
its tooltip. Where the formula is already right, it stays quiet.

  • The settings window let the graphs behind it show through sharply. It blurs
its backdrop now, the way the function panel already did.

  • Formula colours were lost in the report and in print: the browser drops
colour by default, and colour is what ties a row of the report to a curve on
    the canvas.

  • With the window docked to the side, the function panel covered the row of
graph buttons. Below a certain width the buttons move to the bottom of the
    panel instead.

  • The panel said the hotkey captures the selection; it opens the window. The
wording of both the button and the shortcut now says what they do.

  • The count in the note under the reference list ran into the words before it:
all of them,212 and shown17. A trailing space was carried on one side of
the translation table and lost on the other.

Before you install by hand

Two things bite here, and neither of them is in the code.

The page of the panel goes into a folder named ui, not web. The by-hand
section of the plugin README says to take web/index.html and put it under
plugins\GraphBuilder\ui\; copying the whole web folder instead leaves the
plugin running with the old window in place of the panel, and it does not
complain about it. It does write the reason down now - graphbuilder.log in
%TEMP% names the file it looked for and did not find.

RAD Studio 13 ships two IDEs, 32-bit and 64-bit, and a design-time package has
to be built for the one you run. A package built for Win64 will not install in
the 64-bit IDE until Bpl\Win64 under
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Embarcadero\Studio\37.0 is on the search path: the
IDE puts Win32 packages on that path and leaves the Win64 folder off it. The
32-bit IDE with packages built for Win32 needs no such setting.

The archive holds the library, the WebView2 loader, the page and the
reference of signs.

Close Notepad++, unpack the archive into a folder named GraphBuilderLaz
inside the editor's plugins folder, and start it again. The folder has to
carry that name: Notepad++ looks for a plugin only in a folder named after the
library itself, and the library here is GraphBuilderLaz.dll. Then press
Alt+G.
