Kotar is under active development. The following limitations are known in the current release.
| Area | Known Issue / Limitation |
|---|---|
| Model Identity / UUIDs | Persistent UUIDs cannot always be preserved across arbitrary text-only edits. Identity preservation is best-effort when models are modified outside kernel-integrated tooling. |
| Graphical / Textual Editing | Bidirectional projective editing is supported, but some textual restructuring may make it difficult to preserve graphical element identity or layout. |
| Unnamed Elements | Unnamed model elements can create ambiguity when correlating elements between textual and graphical representations. |
| Model Diff | Model-aware diff is currently limited. More advanced semantic model comparison is under development. |
| SPARQL Queries | Direct SPARQL queries operate on the minified RDF representation. Derived SysML v2 properties may therefore not appear directly in query results. |
| SysML v2 RDF View | A fully materialized/derived SysML v2 view for SPARQL queries is planned but not yet implemented. |
| SysML Views as Diagrams | SysML v2 View and Viewpoint elements cannot yet directly drive graphical views. |
| External Tool Synchronization | Live synchronization of model changes made by external engineering tools is still under development. |
| Automatic Source Detection | User control for enabling/disabling automatic source-change detection may not yet be available in all releases. |
| Repository Launch Configuration | Launching Kotar with a Git repository/project automatically preconfigured is not yet fully packaged. |
| Browser Local-Service Access | Browser security restrictions can limit direct access to arbitrary services running on the local machine and may require additional configuration. |
