Cursor IDE support (experimental/beta).

  • Cursor support: npx @plur-ai/cli init --cursor
  • Reduced ~11-tool profile + plur_admin dispatch tool
  • Memory delivered via .cursor/rules/*.mdc
  • plur doctor diagnoses Cursor wiring

Note: some features originally slated for this release were pulled back before shipping because they weren't sufficiently tested. They'll ship in a future release once ready.

Details

PLUR now works inside Cursor — its own hook system (sessionStart, preToolUse, postToolUse, stop), its own MCP config, and a reduced tool profile so PLUR doesn't blow Cursor's ~40-MCP-tool-per-workspace budget.

Install: npx @plur-ai/cli@0.13.0 init --cursor (auto-detected too, if a .cursor/ dir already exists in your project). Writes .cursor/mcp.json, .cursor/hooks.json, and .cursor/rules/plur-memory.mdc.

Reduced tool profile: Cursor gets ~11 core tools (plur_session_start, plur_learn, plur_recall_hybrid, plur_feedback, plur_forget, plur_session_end, plur_status, plur_doctor, plur_packs_uninstall, plur_tensions_purge) plus plur_admin, a dispatch tool for everything else ({ action, args }) — instead of the full 39-tool surface.

Memory delivery: Cursor's hook-output additional_context field is dropped by a confirmed race condition (acknowledged by Cursor's own team, no fix ETA), so PLUR delivers recalled memory and reminders through dynamically-rewritten .cursor/rules/*.mdc files instead.

plur doctor now diagnoses Cursor-specific wiring (.cursor/mcp.json / .cursor/hooks.json, tool-profile env, live MCP tool count for both the full and Cursor profiles).

Why "experimental/beta": this integration has not yet been verified against a live Cursor install. Report issues at github.com/plur-ai/plur/issues.
