NEPA MCP v0.1.0

First stable public release of the PermitAI NEPA MCP Toolkit.

Included

  • 19 MCP servers and 46 tools for federal environmental data, regulatory research, and geospatial screening.
  • Interactive map composition across 32 selectable environmental layers.
  • Production installation from PyPI with pipx.
  • Client configuration generation for Codex, Claude Code, and VS Code.
  • A Codex plugin and nepa-screening skill installable from this repository marketplace.

Install

pipx install nepa-mcp
nepa-mcp doctor
nepa-mcp list-servers

Python 3.12 or newer is required.

For Codex Desktop, add pnnl/nepa-mcp as a plugin marketplace with Git ref v0.1.0, leave Sparse paths blank, then install NEPA-MCP. The Python runtime must be installed first using the command above.

Validation

  • 1,124 tests passed and 1 skipped.
  • Ruff, packaging, and dependency-audit checks passed.
  • Clean production PyPI installs passed on Python 3.12 and 3.14.
  • All 19 MCP servers started over stdio and listed 46 tools.
  • Representative live GIS and eCFR calls passed.
  • A fresh Codex marketplace and plugin install from Git ref v0.1.0 passed.
