OpenStudio AI 0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@weilixu weilixu released this 17 Sep 02:08
e3c53f6

OpenStudio AI 0.4.0 introduces MCP interface contract 5, strengthening support for durable engineering workflows across host plugins.

Highlights

  • Added durable engineering-session workflows.
  • Added evidence-backed findings and resumable checkpoints.
  • Updated plugin/runtime compatibility metadata for MCP contract 5.
  • Refreshed all agent and skill metadata for version 0.4.0.
  • Standardized CI on Python 3.10.

Upgrade note

Plugins exported for earlier contract versions should be refreshed after upgrading to 0.4.0. Restart or reconnect the host MCP server after the upgrade so it discovers the updated tool surface.

Compatibility

  • Package version: 0.4.0
  • MCP plugin interface contract: 5
  • Supported Python version: 3.10

v0.3.1

@weilixu weilixu released this 15 Sep 04:30
790675e

This patch release unifies development on Python 3.10+ and updates the optional standalone AUTOMA-AI environment.

  • Upgrades AUTOMA-AI to 0.9.0, removing the previous google-adk / MCPToolset import incompatibility.
  • Uses Python 3.10 for standalone CI and the Dev Container, matching the production package baseline.
  • Updates the standalone lockfile for reproducible Python 3.10+ installs.
  • Pins onnxruntime below 1.24 only on Python 3.10, since newer releases no longer provide CPython 3.10 wheels.
  • Validation completed: standalone AUTOMA-AI tests pass on Python 3.10 and Python 3.12.

V0.3.0

0.3.0

openstudio-ai 0.3.0 adds a review-gated, user-local learning workflow for
personal modeling assistance in both Codex and Claude Code.

Added

  • Five MCP learning tools for capturing observations, creating and reviewing
candidates, listing candidates, and retrieving approved personal lessons.
  • openstudio-ai learning CLI commands to curate evidence, propose measure
candidates from repeated successful scripts, inspect candidates, and preview
or explicitly confirm pruning of stale unapproved candidates.
  • The curate-learning skill, which can run as a bounded background/subagent
task on hosts that support subagents without interrupting primary modeling.

Changed

  • Renamed the PNNL runtime Python package from openstudio_mcp to
openstudio_ai_mcp. Integrations importing the former package must update
their imports; the runtime command remains openstudio-ai-mcp.
  • The MCP interface contract is now 4. Marketplace plugins exported before
this release declare contract 3 and are reported as incompatible by
    openstudio-ai doctor and runtime_plugin_compatibility. Re-export or
reinstall the plugin, then reconnect its MCP server.
  • Learning is explicit and local: evidence is stored only after a host invokes
a learning tool. Unreviewed candidates never change future assistant
behavior, and approving a candidate creates a personal lesson only; it does
not modify shared skills, knowledge, measures, or MCP tools.

Upgrade notes

  • Update any Python integration from openstudio_mcp imports to
    openstudio_ai_mcp.
  • Refresh Codex and Claude Code plugin exports, run openstudio-ai doctor, and
restart or reconnect the OpenStudio AI MCP server before using learning
    workflows.
  • Before publishing, complete the full release checks below, including the
platform-specific OpenStudio simulation and TestPyPI validation.

v0.2.3

@weilixu weilixu released this 09 Sep 14:36

OpenStudio AI 0.2.3

This release improves NLR OpenStudio MCP integration and makes developer setup more consistent across supported platforms.

Highlights:

  • NLR MCP discovery now uses openstudio-mcp as the supported connection name.
nlr_openstudio remains an internal provider/capability identifier and is no longer accepted as a host connection-name alias.
  • Added a Python 3.12 Dev Container for reproducible development on macOS, Linux, and Windows hosts.
  • The Dev Container installs the locked development dependencies, including the standalone AUTOMA-AI and Streamlit environment.
  • Dev Container setup includes Chromium and required Linux runtime libraries for browser-backed tests.
  • Pinned uv to 0.12.5 in the Dev Container and CI for consistent lockfile resolution.
  • Expanded developer guidance with Dev Container, standard manual setup, and full AUTOMA-AI development setup paths.
  • Updated HVAC skill generation so generated files remain deterministic across environments.

Upgrade note

If you use the NLR OpenStudio MCP connection, rename its host configuration entry to:
[mcp_servers.openstudio-mcp]
Configurations using nlr_openstudio as the connection name must be updated.
