This maintenance release focuses on Brightway export robustness, Monte Carlo reliability, and several data-quality corrections across electricity, metals, PV, cement, and emissions updates.

Highlights

  • Fixed Brightway Monte Carlo behaviour for generated scenario databases by normalising no-uncertainty exchange records during export. Deterministic exchanges now keep loc aligned with amount and stale uncertainty bounds are removed, preventing outdated values from being sampled as fixed Monte Carlo inputs.
  • Filled missing activity classifications on the fast Brightway export path used after NewDatabase.update(), keeping exported metadata consistent with non-updated exports.
  • Improved World GAINS hot-pollutant scaling by deriving correction factors from global absolute emissions, so global datasets receive emissions-weighted adjustments.
  • Added valid uncertainty ranges to PV efficiency records that previously had degenerate minimum, mean, and maximum values, avoiding invalid triangular distributions in Monte Carlo calculations.
  • Preserved secondary metal supply shares in newly created metals markets by copying secondary technosphere inputs from source ecoinvent markets.

Data Corrections

  • Corrected the CPC classification for the PEM fuel-cell system assembly inventory.
  • Corrected the palladium entry in the legacy secondary metal supply activity mapping.
  • Corrected the oxyfuel cement carbon-capture oxygen demand in lci-carbon-capture.xlsx using CEMCAP D4.6 Table 6.1.
