Compatibility as of firmware v0.5.0
PicoGUS requires an ISA bus speed of 8.33MHz or lower. Glitchy playback or silence may happen at higher bus speeds. Also compatibility with different chipsets may vary, specifically for DMA.
Tested known good chipsets:
- 386SX: Chips & Technologies CS8221
- 386DX/486: ALi M1419
- Socket 5/Socket 7: Intel 430FX, Intel 430VX
- Super Socket 7: ALi Aladdin V
Reported bad chipsets:
- 386/486: OPTi 82C495SLC
- Super Socket 7: VIA VT82C598MVP
