Suspend failure caused by cosmic-comp

Describe the bug
Not sure if the details of my laptop matters but let me explain. I have a HP pavilion 16 laptop with i7-13700H and RTX-3050. I connect it with an external monitor via the thunderbolt port. My OS is CachyOS with Cosmic DE.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Click suspend
2. The black screen shows a cursor on the top-left corner. Blinking for 20s.
3. After 20s, the login screen shows up like being waken up.

Expected behavior
Laptop should be suspended.

Additional context
When this issue happens, if I kill the cosmic-comp process and then attempt suspend again, it works. But after a normal wake up, this happens again.

Confirm that if I am on my intel igpu, this issue is gone. I use the 'balance' power plan and this issue can't be triggered if there is no 'dot' on my battery icon in the panel.

Cosmic compositor doesn't handle prepare for sleep very well not saying that's the root cause here but take a look at 2906, there's a commit called prepare for sleep, you may wish to cherry pick those into the cosmic comp for cachyos and rebuild.

This sounds like a wrongly configured nvidia driver. (Make sure preserve-vram settings are enabled.) This is not specifically a cosmic issue, but one of the nvidia-driver + your distributions configuration.

I run sort /proc/driver/nvidia/params and see:

PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations: 1

Also, all the following are already enabled:
nvidia-suspend
nvidia-resume
nvidia-hibernate

Will this fix be included in the next cosmic-comp update? I am on cachyos (arch-based) and wonder when it will reach the rolling release.
