COSMIC Store - flatpak installs fail for some apps #425

Description

@bitshifter52

Using the COSMIC Store (CS) I installed XnSketch. CS says it's installed but when I try to run it nothing happens.

Here is what I've discovered - from the terminal:

flatpak info com.xnview.XnSketch

XnSketch - Turn photos into sketch images

       ID: com.xnview.XnSketch
       Ref: app/com.xnview.XnSketch/x86_64/stable
       Arch: x86_64
       Branch: stable
       Version: 1.18
       License: LicenseRef-proprietary
       Origin: flathub
       Collection: org.flathub.Stable
       Installation: user
       Installed: 91.6 MB
       Runtime: org.freedesktop.Platform/x86_64/25.08
       Sdk: org.freedesktop.Sdk/x86_64/25.08

Then I tried running XnSketch from within the terminal using flatpak and it failed with this error:

flatpak run com.xnview.XnSketch
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "wayland;xcb".

Available platform plugins are: linuxfb, minimal, offscreen, xcb.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
/app/bin/xnsketch: line 5: 5 Aborted (core dumped) "$dirname"/XnSketch "$@"

I tried uninstalling XnSketch from the terminal:

flatpak uninstall xnsketch
Found installed ref ‘app/com.xnview.XnSketch/x86_64/stable’ (user). Is this correct? [Y/n]: Y

  2. [-] com.xnview.XnSketch.Locale stable r

Uninstall complete.

Then I installed XnSketch from the command line:

flatpak install xnsketch
