Arbiter 0.1.0
Meet Arbiter: an open-source browser built around your workflow. Keep your pages
front and center, make room for related work, and bring up the controls only
when you need them.
Make room for your web
- Floating navigation pill: browse with compact controls, reveal them from
the bottom edge, or use your own keyboard shortcuts. - Workspaces: keep projects and interests organized, with optional separate
sign-in sessions. - Flexible split views: split any pane horizontally or vertically, drag to
resize, and swap pages without reloading them. - Personal appearance: choose light, dark or system mode and customize
accent colors, backgrounds and wallpapers for each mode.
Keep your essentials close
- Import passwords and browsing history from other browsers.
- Save and autofill passwords, generate new ones, and unlock with biometrics
where available. - Create local Arbiter passkeys or scan a QR code to use a passkey on your phone.
- Install extensions from the Chrome Web Store, with permission review before
enabling them. - Search your history, manage downloads, open PDFs, print pages and share links
through your operating system.
Browse with less noise
- Built-in ad blocking, with a toggle for the page you’re viewing.
- Automatic sleeping for idle tabs, keeping visible split views and audio awake.
- Private windows that blur, darken and lock when you step away.
- No Arbiter telemetry or data collection.
Download and install
- macOS DMG: Apple Silicon, macOS 14.4 or later. Open the disk image and drag Arbiter to Applications. Signed and notarized. A ZIP is also available.
- Linux archive: x86_64, Ubuntu 24.04 or compatible. Extract it and run
./arbiter. See the installation guide for required system packages. - Windows: coming soon. The download will be added to this release.
This is our first release. Saved credentials do not sync between devices yet,
and some Chrome extensions require APIs that Arbiter does not support.
