Upgrade Notes

  • Icarus now requires hexo-component-inferno 5.0.0 or later, and inferno-server is a dependency. If you install Icarus from npm, you get them automatically, with hexo-component-inferno 5.1.0. If you cloned the theme into themes/icarus, run the install command that the dependency check prints, for example npm install --save hexo-component-inferno@^5.0.0 inferno-server@^8.2.3. See the release notes of hexo-component-inferno 5.0.0 and 5.1.0 beb5317
  • The theme configuration file does not change: its version is still 5.1.0. The new options below are off by default
  • Removed integrations: Facebook Comments, Share.js, Baidu Share, AddThis and the Google FeedBurner subscribe_email widget show a notice instead of loading. Switch to another comment plugin, set share.type to web_share, addtoany or sharethis, and use the followit widget. See the hexo-component-inferno 5.0.0 release notes beb5317
  • Gitalk: Icarus uses Gitalk 2, which requires a GitHub App and your own proxy, set in proxy. Remove client_secret from your configuration and generate a new client secret, because the old one was published in your pages beb5317
  • Profile widget: it no longer falls back to /img/avatar.png when neither avatar nor gravatar is set. To keep the image, set avatar: /img/avatar.png in the widget c2f3135 56a9f61
  • Gallery: lightGallery 3 is licensed under GPLv3 or a commercial license; check that it fits your site. Rename the justifiedGallery CDN override to justified-gallery, and replace jQuery calls to lightGallery() or justifiedGallery() in your own scripts with the native APIs 5bc84de e930a5a
  • MathJax: MathJax 4 loads tex-mml-chtml.js without the es5/ prefix and loads its fonts on demand. If you host MathJax yourself, mirror the whole mathjax and @mathjax/mathjax-newcm-font packages 760213c
  • PJAX: PJAX is now part of the theme, so the pjax CDN override is no longer used. If you added scripts that set up the content of a page, run them on the pjax:complete event as well 3cf03b7
  • If you have customized copies of these files, apply the changes of this release to them: layout/layout.jsx, layout/common/head.jsx, layout/common/navbar.jsx, layout/common/article.jsx, layout/common/plugins.jsx, layout/common/scripts.jsx, source/js/main.js and source/js/pjax.js.
