Anthem Receiver Plus 1.2.2

@pponce pponce released this 13 Sep 01:06

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.2.2

Fixes the two configuration-schema failures reported during Homebridge verification.

  • Replace legacy boolean required flags with the standard object-level array. Host, Port and PanelBrightness retain their existing required status; zone names and maximum volume remain optional.
  • Add the optional lowercase name schema property for the Homebridge log label, with a default of Anthem Receiver Plus.
  • Check these schema requirements before publication.

Update normally through Homebridge UI and restart the Homebridge instance or child bridge running this plugin. Existing configuration, the AnthemReceiver platform name and paired accessories are preserved.

Node.js 22/24 and Homebridge 1.8/2.x compatibility are retained. STR PA/IA support remains experimental.

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.2.1

Fixes package metadata for Homebridge verification and normal plugin installation.

Packaging

  • Move homebridge from peerDependencies to devDependencies. Homebridge supplies the runtime when loading the plugin; npm should not install another copy as a plugin dependency.
  • Keep engines.homebridge at ^1.8.0 || ^2.0.0 and retain Node.js 22/24 compatibility.
  • Add a package check that rejects Homebridge or HAP-NodeJS in runtime, optional, peer or bundled dependency declarations.

Updating

Update normally through Homebridge UI, then restart the Homebridge instance or child bridge running this plugin. Keep your existing configuration and paired accessories.

Receiver controls and accessory identities are unchanged by this packaging fix. STR PA/IA support remains experimental; see the STR testing guide.

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.2.0

@pponce pponce released this 12 Sep 16:54

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.2.0

Adds experimental support for the Anthem STR Preamplifier (PA) and STR Integrated Amplifier (IA), together with diagnostics and an owner testing guide. Existing MRX and AVM support is retained.

STR controls

  • Separate PA and IA profiles with one zone, power, mute and normal input selection.
  • Volume control from −96 to +7 dB in 0.5 dB steps. The configured maximum applies to the STR slider and volume buttons; 0% mutes.
  • Four STR listening modes: Stereo, Mono, Both Left and Both Right.
  • Restricted startup and control commands. ARC, brightness, menu navigation and Home Theatre Bypass selection remain disabled for STR pending further evidence.

Diagnostics and guidance

  • Automatically select ten STR diagnostic queries, skip Zone 2 and include listening-mode readings.
  • Clearly identify experimental support in the UI, reports and startup log.
  • Correct IDN identification to MAC address and hide MAC data in the default report.
  • Exclude the BRT query reported to change STR balance on some firmware.
  • Add a plain-language guide for regular installation, report collection, Apple Home checks and feedback on missing features. Open Plugins → Anthem Receiver Plus tile → ⋮ → Plugin Config to get started.

Testing and compatibility

Automated tests cover PA/IA simulations, command confirmation, volume limits, reconnects and preservation of existing MRX listening-mode switches, including None. The repository CI also checks Node.js 22/24, Homebridge 1.8/2.x, browser behavior, migration, packaging and installation.

Physical STR PA/IA validation is still needed. Experimental support is not a claim of confirmed operation on every model or firmware. Please follow the STR testing guide and share your results, including successful tests.

Update

Install or update homebridge-anthemreceiver-plus normally through Homebridge UI, then restart the relevant Homebridge instance or child bridge. Existing users should keep their configuration and paired accessories.

Requires Node.js 22 or 24 and Homebridge 1.8 or 2.x. The npm package includes compiled dist files; main keeps generated dist untracked.

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.1.0

@pponce pponce released this 11 Sep 22:27

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.1.0

Adds advanced read-only diagnostics for recognized and unknown Anthem hardware, with shareable reports for troubleshooting and future compatibility investigations.

Changes

  • Fix Homebridge version discovery when package exports hide its manifest. Add detected-state and query-count summaries, distinguish optional user-reported power state, and explain rejected alternate-format queries in the UI and schema-v2 JSON reports.

  • Add generic advanced diagnostics to the configuration UI for recognized and unknown Anthem hardware, without changing runtime model support. Collect bounded read-only query outcomes, partial results, and optional raw reply/hex evidence.

  • Add report preview, copy/download actions, default privacy filtering, optional Zone 2 probing, and shared test cancellation/concurrency/cooldown safeguards.

  • Upgrade the build compiler to TypeScript 7.0.2 or compatible 7.x updates. Resolve its CLI through the exported package manifest so builds and direct GitHub installations work with TypeScript 7's package exports.

  • Remove the unused ts-node development dependency; development watching already builds JavaScript before starting Homebridge.

Testing and compatibility

  • The maintainer tested the diagnostics workflow on an MRX 540 8K.
  • Unknown-model diagnostics collect evidence; this release does not add STR or other new hardware to the supported-model list.
  • Report schema 2 separates user-reported power state from detected state and includes query counts and explanations. Copy and download contain the previewed JSON.
  • Existing settings and HomeKit accessory identities are preserved.

Update

Update homebridge-anthemreceiver-plus through Homebridge UI, then restart the relevant Homebridge instance or child bridge. Existing users do not need to remove accessories or reset pairing data.

For users testing the GitHub branch: switch back to the npm package to receive stable releases.

Requires Node.js 22 or 24 and Homebridge 1.8 or 2.x. Compiled dist files are included in the npm package and remain untracked in Git.

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.0.0

@pponce pponce released this 11 Sep 19:06

Anthem Receiver Plus 1.0.0

First stable release of the independent homebridge-anthemreceiver-plus project.

  • A more useful Home app volume slider: set Maximum volume (dB) to match your receiver's limit; the full slider then covers your configured range, with 100% at that limit.
  • Modern settings: grouped controls, inline validation, readable day/night themes, and a read-only receiver connection preview.
  • More dependable control: buffered and validated TCP replies, controlled reconnection and state refresh, confirmed state changes, and corrected zone/input handling.
  • Audio Listening Mode None: a dedicated selection on protocol V02 receivers, preserving existing listening-mode switch identifiers.
  • Homebridge 1/2 and Node 22/24: automated receiver, migration, browser/theme, and package-install checks.
  • Independent package with continuity: retains the AnthemReceiver platform alias and existing accessory identity rules. Original attribution and license are retained.

Installation

For a new installation with the Homebridge APT wrapper, after npm publication:

sudo hb-service stop &&
sudo hb-service add homebridge-anthemreceiver-plus &&
sudo hb-service start

The npm package includes compiled dist and the custom settings UI. GitHub installation is also supported; see the README.

Migration and validation limits

Existing users must follow MIGRATION.md before replacing the old package. Do not load both packages for the same receiver or reset the existing bridge, accessory cache, or pairing data.

The owner reported successful predecessor testing on an MRX 540 8K. Automated tests cover package-rename cache reassociation, HAP identifiers, and synthetic pairing records. Live Plus migration with existing Apple Home scenes/automations and child bridges remains to be validated; the stable version label does not expand that test coverage.

Not yet Homebridge verified. STR preamplifier support is not included. See ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.md for project origins.
