Konstantinos Tsilimparis edited this page Jul 22, 2026 · 6 revisions

An example is PR #504, which added Python 3.13 support.

1. Dependencies in pyproject.toml

Make sure all the dependencies in the toml support the new Python version. If necessary increase their lower or upper bounds

2. Python version in pyproject.toml

e.g., change:

requires-python = ">=3.11,<3.13"

to:

requires-python = ">=3.11,<3.14"

3. Run the testing action on the new Python version

Update .github/workflows/testing.yml to use the new Python version.

4. Run the tutorial notebooks on the new Python version

  • Update .github/workflows/run-notebooks.yml to use the new Python version.
  • Commit with tag [full doc]
  • Once the action is finished, the new notebooks are commited to the website
  • Check the diffs
  • If the diffs look good, keep the new notebooks in the website
