1.0.13 – Display options, wider view, hotkeys and Wii Remote
Recharged 1.0.13 adds simpler display options with a wider view for wide screens, hotkeys with Ctrl, Shift and Alt, and Wii Remote pairing on Windows, and fixes choppy Wii Remote speaker sound and a Super Team crash when a match loads.
Display
- Choose the picture's shape in one row: 16:9, 4:3 or Stretch. 16:9 and 4:3 fill a window of their shape exactly, without thin bars, and the window keeps that shape when you resize it.
- Turn on Wider view with 16:9 to see more of the stadium in matches on screens wider or taller than 16:9 instead of bars. The HUD stays in the 16:9 middle and the menus keep their 16:9 picture.
- Press F while playing to switch between filling the screen and the picture's own shape, and Page Up or Page Down to change the 3D resolution. Both show a short message and can be rebound under Controls.
- Pick the resolution from those your graphics card offers, up to the largest: the window's size, or in fullscreen the screen's (Desktop keeps the display's own). The game window also reopens at the size and place you left it (Wayland desktops pick the place themselves).
- The Original TV picture shows the TV signal's black border only with TV border on.
Controls
- Wii Remote speaker sound plays smoothly again, with rumble on and without frame rate drops.
- On Windows, pair a Wii Remote for good with Sync on the Controls page and the Remote's red SYNC button; after that any button connects it, in the launcher and in the game. Reset forgets Remotes that no longer connect, and a Remote that drops out during a game reconnects with 1+2.
- Connected Wii Remotes show their player on their lights, in the launcher too, and rumble briefly when they become a player.
- Set any hotkey under Controls → Hotkeys to a key alone or with Ctrl, Shift or Alt: click it and press the keys. Alt+Enter for fullscreen can be changed too.
Gameplay
- Super Team no longer stops the game while a match with many robot players loads. If a robot ever doesn't fit, that player keeps their normal look.
Mods
- Mirror match away kits from HD texture packs no longer flash in low resolution in the menus before the HD version appears.
- Mirror match now also recolours HD images that a texture pack redrew with its own kit stripe, such as Waluigi's Boo.
Launcher
- On Windows, the launcher comes to the front after it restarts for an update or a version switch.
- The Display page is simpler, and its notes tell what each choice does on your display.
- The About page is redesigned: it credits the developers, thanks everyone who reported issues and links the Discord server.
- The Play page shows a missing Wii Remote or active gameplay tweaks as a short note that opens their page.
