CycleWeather is now open source under the MIT License.

Built as an experiment in agentic AI-assisted iOS development — no prior Swift, Xcode, or GitHub experience — and shipped to the App Store in four days using Claude Code.

What's here:

  • SwiftUI cycling weather app for iOS 17.0+
  • WeatherKit integration (primary weather data, no API key required)
  • Open-Meteo AQI and solar radiation data (no API key required)
  • Cycling-specific tactical weather alert engine with three tiers
  • Solar Heat Gain Index (SHGI) calculated from direct/diffuse radiation
  • NOAA/NWS precipitation radar overlay via Iowa Environmental Mesonet (no API key)
  • Saved locations carousel (up to 10 locations)
  • Minute-by-minute precipitation forecast pane
  • URL scheme-based alternate icon unlock system

Before you build a fork:
Read NOTICE — WeatherKit requires your own Apple Developer account and entitlement. Open-Meteo requires attribution per CC BY 4.0.
