"В течение" пишется, когда речь идет о каком-то отрезке времени, например, "в течение дня" . Можно заменить словами "в ходе", "во время".
"В течении" пишется, если говорится непосредственно о течении, например "в течении реки" (Если отвечает на вопрос "в чём?", например: найден в течении реки. Если же отвечает на вопрос "куда? во что?", то пишется "е": в течение реки попала нефть).
В нашем случае речь про отрезок времени.
