First release to ship CryptoRoomDB's own R8/ProGuard consumer rules. Targets Room 2.8.4 (roomLibRevision 2).
What's new
- Consumer ProGuard rules now ship in the AAR. Consuming apps automatically inherit keeps for the library's R8-sensitive surface — no manual rules needed for the encryption layer:
CryptoStringTypeConverter(no-arg ctor +@TypeConvertermethods)CryptoString(value type in generated DAO_Implsignatures)CryptoRoomDatabase(baseRoomDatabasereached via the consumer's@Database)
- README "R8 / ProGuard" section documenting the keeps and the key gotcha: encryption is TypeConverter-based, not reflection-based, so entity field-name obfuscation stays governed by your own Room keeps.
Notes
- You still need the standard Room keeps for your own
@Entity/@Database/DAO/AutoMigrationSpecclasses — CryptoRoomDB's rules don't replace them. - Validated: encrypt/decrypt round-trip confirmed working on a minified, full-mode-R8 release build.
