How to create a list with mouse input

I am trying to build a list like the radiolist_dialog, but not a full screen version. I also, want to add the ability to click the items on the list.

Do you have an example for that? I can put together a tutorial if you help me out. (tutorial like the sql-cli example you have).

I'm travelling right now, so not too much time to write it down. But I think the following should work.

One option:

• Look into the full-screen examples, because they are the only examples that show how to build a custom layout. However, use the full_screen=False parameter of Application.
• The layout can probably be a single Window which contains a FormattedTextControl.
• The FormattedTextControl takes a list of (style, text) tuples (or any other kind of formatted text). However in order to have mouse support, you need (style, text, mouse_handler) tuples. Where mouse_handler is a callable that takes a MouseEvent object as input.
• In this mouse handler, you probably have to call get_app().set_result(...) in order to set the result of the application and quit.

Option 2:

• The RadioListControl actually deserves mouse support. If you are willing to extend the _get_text_fragments method of RadioListControl so that it responds to mouse events, I'm more than willing to merge it. It's similar to explained above. This control contains a FormattedTextControl and that method has tuples that can take a mouse handler.
• Remember that also in this case, you can create a custom layout, pass it to an application and set full_screen=False.

@jonathanslenders, I figure out the permission issue. I added an MR, but not sure if that is what you meant with the above: #793

Let me know of any improvements. The click button is pretty sensitive. You have to click in a specific location. Added a video to demonstrate.
