SecureTest v1.3.0
What changed
- Managed-preference configuration. The client now reads its server origin and Google client id from launch arguments, then the environment, then managed preferences. The
localhostfallback is gone. An unconfigured Mac shows "This Mac isn't set up for Secure Test yet. Ask your teacher or IT for help." instead of a blank card (the v1.2.0 field report). The launch log names the source of each value (config: server URL from managed preference). - Time limit (roadmap row T): countdown banner, 5- and 1-minute notices, the session ends at zero without handing in; teachers hand in unfinished attempts from the results pages.
- Multi-source stimulus follow-ups from the 2026-09-09 sitting (C-1, C-2, C-4, C-7), math-entry keypad, drawing tools (pen size, colour, eraser, undo, auto-save).
Requires configuration profile
A pkg alone is not a working install. Scope a com.apple.ManagedClient.preferences configuration profile to the same Macs as the pkg policy. Skeleton: client/config-profile.example.mobileconfig; details in client/RELEASING.md "Configuration profile".
| Preference domain | Key | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
net.psd401.securetest.client |
ServerURL |
string | the design-tool origin, https://<origin> |
net.psd401.securetest.client |
GoogleClientID |
string | the native (macOS-type) Google OAuth client id, <native-google-client-id> |
Precedence: --server / --google-client-id launch arguments > SECURE_TEST_SERVER / SECURE_TEST_GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID environment > the managed preferences above. ServerURL must be an http(s) URL with a host; blank values count as unset.
Local check without Jamf:
defaults write net.psd401.securetest.client ServerURL https://<origin>
defaults write net.psd401.securetest.client GoogleClientID <native-google-client-id>
Requires macOS 26.5 or later. Built from c37921e.
