  • Add the runtime input. The default static source keeps the existing
    Linux x86_64 behavior for PHP 8.3, 8.4, and 8.5.

  • Add runtime: system for compatibility jobs that use an official PHP
    container. The action validates that PHP on PATH matches the requested
    series and installs Composer. It supports PHP 7.4 and PHP 8.1 through 8.5.

  • Add runtime: homebrew for native macOS jobs. The action installs the
    matching Homebrew PHP formula and Composer. It supports PHP 8.1 through
    8.5.

  • Keep coverage modules and custom ini-values exclusive to the static
    source. The managed sources fail early if either unsupported option is
    requested.
