v20260911
This distribution includes compactflash.device 2.0, a new major release of the PCMCIA CompactFlash driver for Amiga 600/1200. It adds automatic card mounting, with configurable behaviour on removal. The new compactflash.automount module handles startup and automount, using the shared ptable.library scanner.
Highlights
- Automount is enabled by default. Insert a card and its partitions mount once DOS is running. Cold boot registers RDB partitions; MBR, GPT and whole-disk FAT volumes follow at DOS startup, using your preferences.
- Card removal requests a full unmount of supported filesystems by default. Handlers still in use remain available for reinsertion.
UNMOUNT <names>selects which filesystems to unmount;UNMOUNT NONEkeeps their handlers. - Shared partition scanning covers RDB, MBR, GPT and whole-disk FAT. The bundled
lsptrestool shows detected partitions and mount settings.
Configuration examples
Edit ENV:cfd.prefs for runtime changes; save a copy as ENVARC:cfd.prefs to retain them after reboot. Settings are reread on card events; existing handlers retain their startup options. Includes sample preferences.
Automount for FAT cards
AUTOMOUNT 1
UNMOUNT FAT
CONTROL_FAT +q
Inserted cards mount automatically. On removal, FAT volumes are unmounted unless still in use; other filesystem handlers stay loaded for reinsertion. FAT mounts receive fat95's quiet +q option, which suppresses error windows while reporting errors to the calling program.
Previous behaviour
For manual mounting through DEVS:DOSDrivers and handlers kept across removal, use:
AUTOMOUNT 0
UNMOUNT NONE
See the automount guide for installation with LoadModule and selecting fat95 or CrossDOS. Automount can run from disk; cold boot from a CF card requires the modules in a Kickstart ROM.
