Patch. Two things a navigation column did while it was moving, and one that it did on a page
that had only just loaded.

Fixed

• The icon in an expanding app rail no longer
  drifts and snaps back. The attribute that decides where an item's icon sits — centered in an
  icon strip, at the start edge once names are beside it — is the same one that switches the
  labeling mode, and it was being held back until the width animation finished so that names
  would stop being laid out at widths they do not keep. The icon went with it: measured across
  the expand, it drifted from 17.5px out to 108px as the column grew underneath, then returned
  to 16px in a single frame. The two concerns are now two attributes, so the alignment follows
  the mode immediately and only the names wait.
• A hard reload no longer animates a navigation column that has never been anywhere else.
  Both the app rail and the sidebar carried their
  width transition unconditionally, so the very first paint after a cache-clearing reload showed
  the column growing from its collapsed width to its resting one. It was most visible on a column
  that remembers its state — persist restores the collapsed width from localStorage before
  anything is painted, and the transition then animated out of the state it had just restored. The
  transition is now armed one frame after the column initializes, and only where the column can
  actually collapse; before that it simply has the width it has.

Documentation

• The two collapsible sidebars on the sidebar page set their width with the --wk-sidebar-w
  token instead of a plain width, which is what the component reads. Pasted as it was, the
  example produced a column that ignored the value on collapse.
