The World Development Indicators (WDI) is the primary World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially-recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available, and includes national, regional and global estimates.

More information about the WDI : The World Development Indicators (WDI) data file available for download is a zipped archive in Excel and CSV format. The CSV archive contains several meta-data files and the full data file, WDIData.csv. The Excel archive contains one file, WDIEXCEL.xlsx, with sheets corresponding to the same meta-data and data tables mentioned above.

The database is a collection of development indicators, compiled from officially recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available and includes national, regional and global estimates.

There are 1344 distinct indicators in this WDI database. There's no end to the possibile ways of defining a nation's level of overall development and qualify of life. Here are some indicators that represent important characteristics of a country:

i.Total fisheries production (metric tons)

ii. Agricultural land (sq. km)

iii. Time required to start a business (days)

iv. New businesses registered (number)

v. Employment in agriculture (% of total employment) (modeled ILO estimate)

vi. Self-employed, total (% of total employment) (modeled ILO estimate)

vii. Corruption Perception Index

Ultimately, we want to relate these indicators to how much the GDP is used per capita.
