Why are there duplicate fields in awards api response?

Let's make a get request to https://pwn.college/api/v1/users/{SOME_USER_ID}/awards:

This is an example of one award in the response. Why have both user and user_id? Same question goes for team and team_id, although I can't verify that they're the same.
