Tethered Downgrades with surrealra1n
This is how to downgrade tethered to a SEP compatible iOS version with surrealra1n. If you're looking for downgrading to iOS 7.0-9.3.5 SEPless on a non-A8 device, you can also use this guide too!
If you're downgrading an A11 device to iOS 14/15, tether downgrade to iOS 14.0 beta 4 first, activate the device, then tether to the desired version (14.3-15.6.1)
First, open the terminal.
And then cd into the surrealra1n folder.
Make sure your device is connected.
Set permissions for surrealra1n if needed: chmod +x surrealra1n.sh
Then run:
./surrealra1n.sh
Select Downgrade Utilities in the menu options.
After that, select Restore (Tethered).
Then select your target IPSW, and base (latest version IPSW).
Select Start Restore.
If it prompts you to enter DFU mode, follow the prompts.
Wait for the custom IPSW to be made and for the device to restore.
After restoring the device, run ./surrealra1n.sh again.
Now, select Downgrade Utilities once again, but this time, select Just Boot.
Input the iOS version you downgraded to when prompted.
If it prompts you to enter DFU mode, follow the prompts.
If everything is done correctly, your device should boot up!
