In October 2026 the website of the association was rebuilt in the open: 23 pull requests, all merged and live. This is what you will notice.

Nineteen years of Python Barcelona, on one site. The site now holds the archive of the community: 281 events, 607 talks, and 370 people, from the first meetup in November 2007 to today. Every meetup has a page with its day, its venue, and its talks, like the November 2025 meetup. Every talk has a page, with its video when there is one, like Efficient Django (2016). Every person has a page with their talks, their events, and the photographs of their talks, like David Arcos.

Search. There is a search box in the header of every page, for every talk, event, and person. Try django. The index is served by pybcn.org itself, so no query leaves the site. The "page not found" page searches the words of the address, so a broken link can still take you to the right page.

Browse by type and by role. You can filter talks by type: talks, workshops, lightning talks, keynotes, and panels. You can filter people by role: the board, the committee, organizers, speakers, mentors, and collaborators.

Photographs. 530 photographs from the association's posts on X are now on 84 event pages, many of them linked to the talk they show. Open the gallery of PyDay BCN 2025 or PyDay BCN 2023.

A new home page. The home page says what PyBCN is and where the next event is, with the two Meetup groups, the recent events, the board and the committee, and the ways to take part. The menu and the footer follow it, and Bluesky is now in the footer.

Sponsors. The sponsors page is built from the sponsor records and shows all 81 sponsors, not the 46 of the old hand-kept list.

The association pages. The site now has a legal notice, a privacy policy, the minutes of the eight general assemblies, and a how to collaborate page with real content instead of placeholder text. The code is MIT and the text is CC BY-SA 4.0: the licensing note explains why the photographs and logos are not licensed.

Privacy. The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. The cookie banner and the PayPal tracking pixel are gone, and the icons and fonts come from pybcn.org. Videos play from YouTube's cookie-free domain. Attendees are never named: a person has a page only if they spoke, organised, mentored, or collaborated.

Phones and screen readers. The schedule of PyDay BCN 2025 now fits a phone screen. Every page has a link to skip to its content, titles in Spanish or Catalan are marked so a screen reader pronounces them right, and dark mode no longer hides the sponsor logos.

Your own card. Your card shows your name, your role, and your events. An email to pybcn@googlegroups.com is enough to change it or to remove it.

Subdomains. Until the start of October 2026, a wildcard DNS record let third parties serve spam sites on subdomains of pybcn.org. We removed it, and those subdomains no longer exist.

How to help. The site is open on GitHub, and every change is checked before it is merged. The contributing guide says how to add a person, a sponsor, or an event without writing code.
