Core Roles Safety

The Head of Safety's main responsibilities are:

• Answer the safety phone: During the conference we have a safety number for people to call if they are concerned someone may be breaking the code of conduct. The Head of Safety leads the team that answers those calls.
• Transparency: Inform the core team about what types of safety issues are being encountered and how they are being resolved.
• Lead by example: We aim to run a respectful and inclusive conference. The Head of Safety should be dealing with safety issues in a respectful and inclusive manner.

The Head of Safety also provides input to core team about how we can improve our practices to avoid or mitigate safety issues.
