Unspool communicates with Telegram through TDLib because browsing chats and downloading their files cannot work offline. The app has no analytics, advertising SDK, developer-operated backend, or remote-code system.
- Telegram API credentials are stored in macOS Keychain.
- Local app state stays under Application Support.
- Downloads go only to a user-selected security-scoped folder.
- Filters, selections, presets, and download history are local.
- Public screenshots and fixtures use synthetic data.
Telegram necessarily processes account, chat, message, and file requests made through its service. Unspool is independent of Telegram.
