🚨 Read this before installing v3.0.0

This release requires a mandatory one-time migration 🧰✅

🔴 Do NOT install/update to v3.0.0 until you complete the steps below.

The Lovelace card and the sync integration are now installed/managed together 📦✨.
To avoid conflicts, missing files, or broken resources, the old separate setup must be removed cleanly first 🧹🛠️

✨ What’s new in v3.0.0?

  • 📦 Bundled installation: Card + integration are now combined into one install

  • 🧩 After setup, the integration will automatically:

    • 📁 Install the card into your www folder
    • 🔗 Add the card to Resources (similar to HACS) ✅

  • 🏷️ Naming update:

    • Chores4Kids Sync ➜ Chores4Kids

✅ There are no feature changes to the card itself — this release is about packaging + installation flow 🚀💙

✅ Mandatory migration steps (do this BEFORE installing v3.0.0)

1) 🧹 Remove the old standalone setup completely

  • ❌ Uninstall the standalone card (make sure it’s fully removed from Home Assistant)
  • 🗑️ Remove any old Resource entry for the standalone card (if it still exists) ✅

2) 📥 Install/update v3.0.0 (combined integration)

  • ✅ Install/update Chores4Kids (previously “Chores4Kids Sync”)
  • 🔁 Restart Home Assistant (recommended and important) ✅

3) ⚙️ Run the integration setup again

  • Go to Settings → Devices & Services 🧭

  • Open Chores4Kids and click Configure / Reconfigure (if available) ✅

  • Once configured, it will automatically:

    • 📁 Install the card into www
    • 🔗 Add it to Resources

4) 🌐 Hard refresh Home Assistant

  • Do a hard refresh in your browser 🔄
  • Chrome/Edge (Windows/Linux): Ctrl + Shift + R or Ctrl + F5 ⌨️
  • Chrome (macOS): ⌘ + Shift + R ⌨️

✅ After this, the card should appear exactly like before 👀✨

🆘 If something looks wrong

  • ✅ Double-check you removed the old standalone card and any leftover Resource entry
  • ✅ Verify the card exists in www
  • ✅ Verify the resource entry was added
  • 🔄 Do another hard refresh
  • 🔁 Try restarting Home Assistant one more time
