Geasd Wiki

Welcome to the official wiki for Geasd — a Fabric mod for Minecraft 26.1.2 that lets you harvest wheat seeds from vanilla grass and ferns.

What Is Geasd?

Geasd adds an early-game way to collect Wheat Seeds without relying on villages or dungeon loot. Interact with grass and fern plants using your empty hand or shears to break them, roll for seed drops, and optionally leave stubble that regrows over time.

Supported Plants

Plant Vanilla block
Short Grass minecraft:short_grass
Tall Grass minecraft:tall_grass
Fern minecraft:fern
Tall Fern minecraft:large_fern

Tall plants work from either half — the whole plant is handled together.

Harvesting Guide

Empty Hand — Right-Click

  • Plant is removed (no regrowth)
  • 85% → 1 seed · 15% → 2 seeds
  • Nothing consumed

Shears — Right-Click

  • Plant becomes stubble that regrows in ~5 minutes
  • 10% → 1 seed · 90% → 2 seeds
  • Costs 1 shears durability

Shears — Left-Click

  • Plant breaks permanently (no stubble)
  • 10% → 1 seed · 90% → 2 seeds

Stubble

  • Right-click to remove permanently
  • No seeds when breaking stubble alone
  • Regrows into the original plant after 6,000 ticks

Seeds always drop on the ground as items.

Multiplayer: install on both client and server.

Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.1.2
  2. Install Fabric API
  3. Download geasd-1.0.0.jar from Releases
  4. Place the JAR in your mods folder
  5. Launch the game

Configuration (Defaults)

Setting Value
Hand one-seed chance 85%
Shears one-seed chance 10%
Regrowth time 6,000 ticks (~5 min)

These are defined in code and are not yet changeable in-game.
