Sessions
Session: Building Enterprise-Grade Agentic AI Systems with IBM Quarkus and Bob
Speaker(s): Kevin Dubois, Daniel Oh, & Ryan Jarvinen
Date/Time: TBD
Abstract: In this hands-on lab, you’ll build an agentic AI system using IBM Enterprise Build of Quarkus. Learn how to design multiple AI agents that can reason, interact with enterprise services, and execute workflows. You’ll implement core agent patterns, including sequence, parallel, routing, loop, and supervisor, while integrating MCP and A2A. The lab also covers pro-coding using IBM Bob, human-in-the-loop, and observability. By the end, you’ll have working, production-ready AI agents and practical skills to bring agentic AI into enterprise environments.
Session: Demystifying AI System Protocols
Speaker(s): Daniel Oh & Kito Mann
Date/Time: TBD
Abstract: In November, 2024, Anthropic introduced the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to standardize how LLMs connect to services. Several months later, Google followed with the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol to define how agents communicate with one another. Since then we've seen more emerging standards, such as Skills and Agent Client Protocol (ACP). You’ve likely heard of these protocols and standards, but how do they really work? What technologies power them? How is security enforced? How can you use these technologies with Java and Quarkus? Come to this session to peel back the curtain and see how it all works.
