WG - Quarkus AI 2026/27

Objective:
The main objective of this working group is to revamp the Quarkus AI message and to coordinate work for Quarkus AI during the 2026/27 timeframe.

The Problem

There are a bunch of things we want to address this year for Quarkus AI strategy:

• Revamp the Quarkus AI webpage
• Create Blueprint samples for Quarkus AI that show full Quarkus stack and AI application archetypes
• Align Quarkus LC4J extension with LC4J upstream project. Because Q-LC4J reimplements a lot of things to Quarkize LC4J, new features and bug fixes in upstream don't percolate down to Q-LC4J.
• LangFuse integration. This will give us Observability, Tracing, Metrics, and a playground for development. Will also make Java a first class language in the overall AI dev community
• Revamp Q-LC4J RAG implementation
• Bring Quarkus/CDI style programming to more LC4J components
• Handle shutdown and recovery more gracefully.

Definition of Done

When the Epic issues defined in the Quarkus AI umbrella GitHub projects are closed.

Scope of Work

Scope of work will be well defined within various GitHub issues linked to within the Epic Issues of the Quarkus AI umbrella repo.

Organizing the Work

1. Communication and Transparency:

A new umbrella GitHub project for Quarkus AI has been created. This will hold high level issues (epics) that like to lists of tasks and issues
spread out between the other repos we are trying to coordinate.

There is a WG GitHub project as well.
