Key Improvements and Fixes

1. PoUS Glyph Consensus & Strict Fail-Closed CLAIM Gate (NEW-11 & Audit 5)

  • Fail-Closed CLAIM Verification: Eliminated a fail-open edge case in Glyph claim verification. All on-chain attestation claims now strictly enforce cryptographic UTXO and Glyph ownership verification prior to acceptance in both node consensus (src/airegistry.cpp, src/pous.cpp) and the Quavence Explorer indexer (src/indexer/indexer.ts).
  • Deep Reorg Protection (NEW-9): Hardened anchor evaluation logic against state desynchronization under deep block reorganizations (6+ blocks). Re-evaluation sequences are now strictly idempotent and deterministic.
  • Bi-directional State Transition Integrity: Full regression coverage verified across all glyph operations (REGISTER, HEARTBEAT, TRANSFER, UPDATE, REVOKE, CLAIM).

2. P2P Transport & Network Layer Resilience (NEW-10 & BIP-155)

Key Improvements and Fixes

1. Tor Fallback & Multi-Instance Compatibility

  • External Tor Auto-Detection (src/embeddedtor.cpp): When embedded Tor is enabled, the node proactively probes standard Tor control (9051) and SOCKS5 (9050) ports before attempting to spawn an embedded daemon. If a running external Tor instance is detected, Quavence smoothly falls back to connecting to it rather than crashing or throwing port collision errors.
  • Windows Path & Cookie Escaping (src/torcontrol.cpp): Resolved parsing errors in ParseTorReplyMapping when handling Tor PROTOCOLINFO responses containing Windows backslash path separators (C:\...). Backslashes are now unescaped strictly according to the Tor control specification, ensuring 100% reliable cookie authentication on Windows platforms.

2. PoUS v2 Consensus & Attestation Hardening (NEW-1, NEW-3, NEW-4)

  • Attestation Replay & Payout Key Validation: Hardened validation logic in src/airegistry.cpp and src/pous.cpp ensuring strict cryptographic attestation nonce sequencing, Base58 worker payout destination enforcement, and protection against stale attestation injection.
  • Consensus Invariants: Maintained strict mathematical guarantees across staking reward distributions, fee burns, and PoUS Glyphs minting transactions.

3. P2P Network Stability & W-DoS Mitigation

  • Addrman Serialization & Assert Prevention (src/addrman.h, src/net.cpp): Reconciled internal nNew and nTried peer table accounting to eliminate assertion failures during peers.dat disk flushes under high peer discovery churn.
  • SubNet Address Serialization: Fixed backward compatibility in CSubNet serialization across disk and wire formats, preventing deserialization errors during address broadcast.

Quavence Core v15.1.2 (Protocol 70016)

Quavence Core version 15.1.2 is a critical security, consensus, and P2P networking release for the desktop GUI wallet, node daemon, and AI Worker subsystems. It resolves verified security advisories QV-2026-001, QV-2026-002, and QV-2026-003, enforces strict PoUS consensus rules for all blocks from 600 onwards, activates native backward-compatible Tor v3 onion address gossip, resolves peer database (peers.dat) consistency checks, and bundles a self-contained portable AppImage for modern Linux distributions (Mint 22.3+, Ubuntu 24.04+).

⚠️ CRITICAL UPGRADE NOTICE: The network is currently operating at Block 4371+. PoUS v2 cryptographic verification rules are active for all blocks from 600 onwards. All node operators, validators, pool operators, and stakers MUST update to v15.1.2 immediately to ensure continuous synchronization and staking on the canonical chain.

🛡️ Security Advisories Resolved

1. QV-2026-001: PoUS Attestation Replay Protection & Signature Validation

  • Issue: Unchecked attestation submissions could theoretically allow replay attacks or unauthorized task credits across rolling windows.
  • Fix: Cryptographic nonce enforcement, worker signature verification against registered Base58 payout keys, and deduplication checks in src/pous.cpp.

2. QV-2026-002: PoUS Pool Authorization Hard-Fork & ECDSA Verification

  • Issue: Naive pubkey extraction in TxSpendsFromKeyID previously accepted scriptSig pushes without signature verification, allowing theoretical forgery of consensus boost markers.
  • Fix: Strict ECDSA signature verification (VerifyScript with SCRIPT_VERIFY_NULLFAIL | SCRIPT_VERIFY_DERSIG). Hard fork rule activation is gated at block nPoUSV2ActivationHeight = 600.
  • Mitigation: Fast pre-filter (scriptSig.size() < 70) mitigating potential mempool CPU exhaustion (W-DoS).

3. QV-2026-003: Tor v3 Serialization & Peer Database (peers.dat) Invariant Fix

  • Issue: 32-byte Ed25519 Tor v3 public keys were truncated to 16 bytes when relayed over legacy IPv6-mapped gossip. Additionally, reading legacy peers.dat files could cause address manager counter desync (assert(nIds != nNew) in src/addrman.h:312), crashing nodes on startup or shutdown.
  • Fix: Protocol upgraded to 70016 (TORV3_ADDR_VERSION). Added full 32-byte onion gossip serialization with safe legacy fallback. In src/addrman.h, nNew and nTried counters are automatically reconciled against actual in-memory entries, eliminating runtime assertion failures.

Quavence Core version 15.1.1 is a maintenance and consensus calibration release for the desktop GUI wallet and AI Worker subsystems. It introduces calibrated PoUS boost tiers, per-worker task credit isolation in the GUI, strict Base58 payout address preflight validation, and fallback address safeguards.

What's New in v15.1.1

1. PoUS Staking Boost Tier Calibration

  • Calibrated GUI and RPC boost calculations to match canonical consensus tiers in src/pos.cpp (GetWorkerPoUSBoost):
    • Tier 1 (1–5 tasks / 24h): +10% staking weight boost (1.10x multiplier)
    • Tier 2 (6–20 tasks / 24h): +25% staking weight boost (1.25x multiplier)
    • Tier 3 (21+ tasks / 24h): +50% staking weight boost (1.50x multiplier)

2. Isolated Worker Task Credit Counters

  • Fixed UI counter display bug where GetAiAttestationsCountInWindow (network total) was mistakenly displayed as individual worker completed tasks.
  • The GUI and Overview pages now query GetWorkerCreditsInWindow(workerKey) for the worker's own attested tasks within the 1,440-block rolling window.

3. Strict Preflight Validation & Typed Status

  • Refactored WorkerActivationPreflight to return a strongly typed enum class PreflightStatus.
  • Integrated CBitcoinAddress::IsValid() Base58 validation for worker payout addresses.
  • Blocked registration of the default DAO fallback treasury address (SXbKabu...) during worker preflight.

Quavence Core version 15.1.0 is a major networking and privacy release introducing native Tor v3 (ED25519-V3 / BIP155) hidden services, SHA3-256 (Keccak-f[1600]) checksum verification, automatic onion seednode routing, and an All-in-One single executable distribution with a bundled background Tor daemon for Windows.

1. Native Tor v3 Hidden Services (BIP155 / ED25519-V3)

  • Full support for 56-character .onion addresses with 2-byte SHA3-256 checksums and version byte 0x03.
  • Automatic creation and advertising of persistent v3 onion hidden services via ADD_ONION with SAFECOOKIE authentication.
  • Private key persistence in <DataDir>/onion_v3_private_key.

2. Standalone All-in-One Windows GUI Wallet

  • Bundles the official, statically linked tor.exe binary directly inside the Windows PE resource section (RCDATA).
  • Automatically extracts and manages Tor in the background with zero user configuration.
  • Process lifecycle bound to Windows kernel Job Object (JOB_OBJECT_LIMIT_KILL_ON_JOB_CLOSE) to prevent orphaned/zombie processes.

3. Built-in Permanent Seednodes

  • Added permanent onion seednode (kalwfcd7ia3gcwksq7yipu3b2lseibic6ytmawkbvq7odlleic6lifqd.onion) and VPS seednode (89.125.130.116) to vSeeds in chainparams.cpp.
  • Enables true P2P network resilience: new wallets connect directly over Tor even if the central clearnet VPS is offline or blocked.
