Mac Relay Server v0.2.8

A big update since 0.2.54 — the Apple Watch companion, passive alerts to your wrist, much sharper
Ready/Working status, and a sturdier connection. The relay now matches the iPhone/Watch apps at
0.2.8, so the three pieces carry one version again.

This is the first public relay build since 0.2.54; everything below is new to you if that is what
you are running.

New

• Apple Watch companion. The Watch app is built into the iPhone app (no separate download): a live
  glance of your session — Ready / Working, plus the first words of your last prompt (I:) and the
  agent's reply (O:) — and it buzzes your wrist when the agent finishes or needs a decision, even
  while your phone is locked and pocketed. Prompt notifications carry Yes / Allow all / No you can tap
  right from the wrist.
• Passive push alerts (APNs). Point the relay at an Apple push key (.p8) once and it will notify you
  when Claude finishes or needs input — no need to keep the app open. Wrist alerts work whether the phone
  is locked or unlocked.
• "Open in Terminal" on every session tile — one click opens a Terminal already attached to that tmux
  session.
• Kill-session safety guard — killing a session asks you to retype a short code first, so a live
  session can't be lost to an accidental tap.
• Keep Mac awake while running — a toggle (on by default) prevents the Mac from idle-sleeping so a
  pocketed phone can keep reaching it. (Idle sleep only — a closed laptop lid still sleeps.)
• Live status readouts in the relay window: whether a phone/watch is connected right now, when one last
  connected, and how many push tokens are registered.

Improved

• Much more accurate Ready vs Working. Rebuilt status detection so "Working" stays lit for the whole
  turn — including quiet streaming gaps and inter-step pauses — and flips to "Ready" only when the agent is
  truly done. It's general now (works for other agents and plain long-running commands, not just Claude).
• Sturdier connection. After a sleeping/laggy Mac drops the link, the app keeps retrying and re-links
  on its own when the Mac returns, detects a silently-dead connection in ~15s, and tells you why it
  can't connect (relay not running vs Mac asleep vs no network).
• Relay window scrolling/sizing fixes; clearer APNs setup with validation; a WebSocket frame + timer/socket
  leak fixed.

Install

Download the signed .dmg, drag Mac Relay Server to Applications, and press Start. tmux 3.5a is
bundled — no extra installs. Get the iPhone + Watch apps from the App Store (one download delivers both).

Compatibility

Protocol v1, extended additively (push_register with a phone/watch platform tag;
status.last_input/last_response). Older clients ignore the new fields — no breaking change. Reachable
over LAN / Tailscale / WireGuard / SSH tunnel, same as before (no public endpoint).

Checksums

Built from commit 461158a, signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. The disk image itself is
signed, notarized and stapled, so it verifies offline.
