Bug Fix: Android 12+ Background Service Restriction

Fixed the error "starting a service from the background is blocked" that occurred when sending messages via Tasker on Android 12+ devices.

Changes

  • Replaced service-based architecture with BroadcastReceiver.goAsync() and coroutines
  • Message sending now happens directly in MessageReceiver using IO dispatcher
  • Removed BeeperService (no longer needed)
  • Added kotlinx-coroutines-android dependency

Upgrade Instructions

  1. Download app-debug.apk from this release
  2. Install on your device (will overwrite previous version)
  3. Test Tasker integration - messages should now work on Android 12+

Technical Details

On Android 12+, apps cannot start background services from BroadcastReceiver context. This fix uses goAsync() which allows the receiver to perform async work (ContentProvider insert) within ~10 seconds without needing a service.

The ContentProvider insert operation is very fast (<1 second), well within the goAsync() window.
