Picerate - A Social Media Application

Picerate is a social media platform developed primarily with TypeScript, leveraging Appwrite for backend functionality.

Getting Started

To run this application, you'll need to set up an Appwrite account and replace the existing API keys with your own. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Clone the Repository

    git clone <repository_url>
  2. Install Dependencies
    Navigate to the project directory and install the required dependencies:

    npm install
  3. Set Up Appwrite Credentials
    Create a .env file in the root directory and add your Appwrite credentials:

    VITE_APPWRITE_URL=
    VITE_APPWRITE_PROJECT_ID=
    VITE_APPWRITE_DATABASE_ID=
    VITE_APPWRITE_STORAGE_ID=
    VITE_APPWRITE_USER_COLLECTION_ID=
    VITE_APPWRITE_POST_COLLECTION_ID=
    VITE_APPWRITE_SAVES_COLLECTION_ID=
    
  4. Run the Application
    Start the development server:

    npm run dev

    A responsive user interface with a bottom navigation bar, providing a mobile app-like experience.

  • React Query Integration
    Utilizes React Query (Tanstack Query) for:

    • Auto-caching to boost performance
    • Parallel queries for efficient data retrieval
    • First-class mutations
  • Backend as a Service (BaaS) - Appwrite
    Employs Appwrite as a Backend as a Service, streamlining backend development with features like authentication, database management, file storage, and more.
