Error in dowload historical data: JSONDecodeError('Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0)')

I tried to dowload historical data using the 0.2.61 version.
I am getting the following error for all the stock tickers

df = yf.download(ticker, auto_adjust=False, actions=False, start=start_date, end=end_date)

Error:
download ['GOOG']: JSONDecodeError('Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0)')

Please suggest the solution to this.

It's working now, although I did update yfinance with pip.

As of right now, it hasn't updated its stocks for 2025-06-02. Was trying to grab the latest data this morning.

EDIT: Nevermind it was my code hehe

FYI... same issue for me, today, but worked with upgrade from 2.61 to 2.65.

same for me, it was suddenly resolved, probably an issue on yahoo finance side.
