Bug fixes

  • MarkItDown detection: the Test button no longer imports the removed markitdown._converters.PdfConverter and now probes a real PDF conversion end-to-end.
  • Unicode paths: conversion options are passed via a UTF-8 JSON config file instead of argv, fixing Windows ANSI mangling of non-ASCII characters in PDF paths.
  • Path resolution: the script folds typographic punctuation (apostrophes, en/em dashes, non-breaking spaces) and scans the parent folder, fixing cases where Zotero returns a different quote character than what is on disk.
  • Custom output folder: falls back to the PDF's own folder when the configured directory is empty or missing.
  • Preferences pane CSS no longer leaks global selectors (icons of other Zotero settings panes stay visible).
  • Context menu item now shows the plugin icon.
  • Temp config/output files are removed after each run.
