Container Preflight. This is the version evaluated in the paper Predicting Container Deployment Failures Before Execution by Jointly Analyzing Container Artifacts and Host Environments.

Tool

  • container-preflight preflight [dir]: predicts Docker and Compose build and start-up failures before execution, using 18 rules. Use --run "docker run …" for commands, and --host snapshot.json to predict for another machine.
  • container-preflight snapshot: saves this machine's container capabilities.
  • container-preflight learn -- <command>: turns an observed failure into a shareable rule.

Evaluation data

  • bench/: GitHub issue mining with checked precision (32 categories, about 95k issues), the labeled development sample (124 issues) and the held-out test sample (121 issues). Tag eval-frozen marks the rules as of the test draw.
  • docs/validation/: field validation on Colima and Docker Desktop (Apple silicon).
