✨ What's New in PeekMD v0.3 (Beta)

🛠️ Self-Healing Extension Registration & Finder Controls

  • Automatic Quarantine Removal: When launched, PeekMD now automatically clears com.apple.quarantine from its embedded .appex plugins so macOS Finder can safely load them without Gatekeeper blocking.
  • Relaunch Finder Action: Added one-click "Relaunch Finder" and "Repair Extension" buttons in both the Quick Setup Guide and Settings & Preferences window to immediately reload Finder's extension host.
  • Expanded Directory Monitoring: Full support for iCloud Drive (~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs), synced Desktop/Documents folders, and custom monitored directory structures.

📦 Quick Troubleshooting for Finder Context Menu

  1. Enable PeekMD Extension under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Finder Extensions.
  2. Click Relaunch Finder inside PeekMD (or run killall Finder in Terminal).
  3. If macOS restricts downloaded extensions, run: 
    xattr -cr /Applications/PeekMD.app && killall Finder
