v2.13.0 — DAT SDK 0.9.0: newer glasses supported
Meta DAT SDK 0.5.0 → 0.9.0 (issue #55)
Newer glasses (Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 "Blayzer Optics", Meta Glasses, Oakley Meta) were invisible to OpenVision — the pinned SDK predated the hardware. This release migrates to SDK 0.9.0, field-verified on Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1/2 (Wayfarer) and Blayzer Gen 2.
What changed
- SDK 0.9.0 + new camera lifecycle:
DeviceSession→addCamera→camera.stream(session must reach.startedbefore the camera attaches). - New: "Install/Update Glasses App" button (glasses settings) — stages the on-glasses developer component (DWA) via Meta AI. Without it, sessions die with "Device unavailable" / "Session ended by device".
- Session error-stream + device compatibility diagnostics; SDK log guidance in the issue.
- Stream errors no longer pop a modal when the app is backgrounded (the raw codec pauses by design on screen lock).
⚠️ Required one-time setup for source builders
SDK 0.9.0's App Model needs a complete trust chain — app-side code alone is not enough:
- Wearables Developer Center → your project → Configuration: fill your Apple Team ID and toggle Camera access ON (with rationale). Old projects created in the 0.5.0 era lack both.
- In the app: Unregister → Register (re-issues the grant).
- Tap Install/Update Glasses App and complete the Meta AI hand-off.
Requirements: glasses firmware V126+, Meta AI app V282+, iOS 17.2+.
Thanks to @BarryLaminack for meticulous field testing on Blayzer Gen 2.
