Brew Interconnect

Brew is the protocol FlowStation uses to connect your local cell to a wider TETRA network — TetraPack or BrandMeister. Once connected, group calls and SDS messages flow between your cell and the network core.

Configuration

[brew]
host = "core.tetraflow.ro"
port = 9000
tls = true
username = 123456700
password = "your_password"
Field Description
host Brew core hostname
port Brew core port
tls Use TLS for the connection
username Your hotspot / node number
password Hotspot password

What flows over Brew

  • Group calls — calls on networked talkgroups are bridged in both directions
  • Individual (P2P) calls — full-duplex P2P works across Brew
  • SDS messages — text forwarded to/from the network

Connection status

The dashboard System tab shows live Brew connection status. If it shows disconnected:

  1. Check host/port reachability from the Pi
  2. Verify username/password
  3. Confirm tls matches what the core expects
  4. Check the Log tab for Brew handshake errors

Related fixes

Several Brew-specific bugs were fixed vs upstream — see Troubleshooting for the ExpiryOfTimer crash loop, UL audio routing, and SDS ACK absorption.
