SameBoy 0.13.6 Beta Libretro Core 2x Patch 0.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@rbong rbong released this 14 Mar 16:54

This version of SameBoy lets you switch between two running GameBoys, and combine audio between two of them.
It was written to make writing music in LSDj easier.

Instructions:

  • Install RetroArch if you haven't already
  • Download the appropriate version of the Libretro core below for your system
  • On PC, copy the core to your cores directory. You can find this in RetroArch via Settings > Directory > Cores
    • On Android, skip to Load a Core in RetroArch
    • You may want to remove any existing SameBoy core (there is no way to distinguish between them for now)
  • In RetroArch, select Load Core and select the SameBoy core
  • Select Subsystem > 2 Player
    • You have to select this three times; once for the first ROM, once for the second ROM, and once to actually start it
    • Use two different ROM files to avoid overwriting RAM - if you want to use the same ROM, make a copy and rename it
  • Once the ROMs are running, open the menu (F1 on PC) and scroll down to Options
    • Set Screen Layout to left-right to view the instances side-by-side
    • Set Audio Output to Combined to hear audio from both instances at the same time
  • Close the menu (F1 again on PC)
  • You should be able to switch between the left and right instance using L and R
    • Make sure these buttons are bound in the menu
