Highlights

  • Fix: NAV layer LEFT / DOWN / UP now auto-repeat when held (#5). Arrow cluster moved from row 2 (over home-row mods) to row 3 (over plain N / M / , / .)
  • Refine: home-row mods remapped to symmetric ring/middle/index mapping across both hands
  • Refine: AltGr (RALT) moved from index reach (T / Y) to index home (R / U) to cut mistypes

Home row mapping

Left: A S D F G
          LALT LCTRL LSHFT
Right: H  J      K      L      ;
          RSHFT RCTRL LALT

All four modifiers stay directly holdable on the home row, so multi-mod chords (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+key, GUI+SHIFT+S, CTRL+ALT+DEL) remain clean.

Hold-tap timing unchanged: tapping-term-ms=280, require-prior-idle-ms=150, quick-tap-ms=175, hold-trigger-on-release on hml / hmr.

NAV arrow relocation

Vim-style arrows moved to row 3 over plain base-layer keys so OS auto-repeat works:

Before (row 2, 33–36): LEFT DOWN UP RIGHT → over hmr H/J/K/L (hold-tap broke repeat)
After (row 3, 46–49): LEFT DOWN UP RIGHT → over plain N M , . (repeat works)

Window-management shortcuts (LG(N1) / LG(U) / LG(I) / LG(N9)) take the vacated row 2 positions.

CODE layer

Mod-tap wrappers follow the new finger positions:

  • S = } / LALT (was plain })
  • G = plain + (was + / LALT)
  • D / F unchanged ([ / ] with LCTRL / LSHFT)

Flashing

  1. Double-tap reset on the left half → mount as NICENANO → copy eyelash_sofle_studio_left.uf2
  2. Double-tap reset on the right half → copy nice_view-eyelash_sofle_right-zmk.uf2
  3. settings_reset-nice_nano_v2-zmk.uf2 only if Bluetooth pairing breaks — flash it first, then the normal half firmware on top

Changes

  • Closes #5
  • Merged from #10
  • Supersedes #6, #8, #9 (closed as superseded)
  • Design exploration in #7

Future work

  • #11 — dedicated gaming layer(s)
  • #12 — expand CODE layer with programming symbols and multi-char macros
