Release list
Mod Framework v0.8.8
Fixed some issues with the Mod Editor.
Fixed an oversight with torpedoes in the Mod Framework.
Mod Framework v0.8.7
Fixes an issue with the sprites for custom Large and Superheavy weapons.
Mod Framework v0.8.6 - Custom Weapons
Adds the ability for modders to create their own custom weapons with their own textures, at the moment you can only replicate
what the vanilla game has to offer, eventually new custom effects will be added.
Total editor overhaul: Both the Ship Editor and Galaxy Editor are gone, in their place there's a new Mod Editor that allows you to essentially create a whole mod without ever touching the .json file yourself.
Bumped the max ships allowed in your fleet from 8 to 12 (Warning: the game was not made for you to have this many ships so from the 10th ship onward their formation coordinates is randomly offset so they will start to overlap, this is purely visual)
Added a way to add duplicated ships to a Shipyard, if you want you can now sell 5 of your own custom battleships in any shipyard of your choosing.
Fixed a tremendous bug that caused custom ships to disappear after some time in game, added a dynamic restock function to custom planets so your own modded ships will get restocked after you bought them.
Fixed a bug with the Framework that blocked commodities from being loaded on an existing save.
Massive thanks to shadowchief4 on the Discord server for helping with Beta Testing.
(The changelog is not exhaustive and some minor changes might not be documented here)
Mod Framework v0.7.2
Updates the ship editor to add a new shield color picker.
Updates the Framework to allow custom shield colors in game.
Mod Framework v0.7.1 - Android Installer Update
Fixed several issues with the Framework itself, added some guards against some edge cases between vanilla code and the Framework's code.
Updated the Ship Editor and Galaxy Editor with newer features and improved QoL, also fixed some bugs along the way.
Android-Only Framework Installer: New android app that works on non-rooted phones, it will essentially do the same thing that the PC patcher does in your phone, for users that don't have immediate access to a computer that still want to install the framework.
As always remember that vanilla saves are lost when installing the framework, no workaround possible yet.
Mod Framework v0.7.0
Reworked the mod file system:
- The game now request access to all files, this is needed for it to create the mods folder in an accessible location for non-root users, you don't have to grant this access if you are not comfortable with it and the modloader will work correctly using the old file location but to install mods you either need root or a computer.
- This also means that in the "external" mods folder the modded folders will persist even if you uninstall the game, without this permission they are lost if you uninstall it.
Added a more robust update system:
Starting from v0.7.0 the patcher will have an option to update the Mod Framework whenever a new version is released which will allow you to keep your saves whenever you update the framework without any risk of double patching the apk and ruining the app (which was something that passed right under my nose in all previous versions).
Any build older than v0.7.0 does not have this system and the patcher wont be able to update it dynamically in this way, so if you're comming from an older build you will need to provide the original play store .apks bundle in the input/ folder and update to 0.7.0 the old way.
This is the foundation to more easily update the Framework whenever a new build is released and to soften the impact when the game updates.
Several QOL additions to the patcher, the most notable being:
You no longer need to use 3rd party apps to extract the .apks bundles yourself, the patcher will pull them from your play store app automatically and work on them, all you need to do is plug your phone and run the patcher pressing Y or N depending on what it asks you.
Mod Framework v0.6.8
Compatibility patch with Space RPG 4 version 0.9995
Mod Framework v0.6.0
Added a way to create and modify planets.
Expanded the system creation tools.
Added a galaxy editor tool to help visualize placed systems better.
Example mod now includes all the above implementations.
Mod Framework v0.5.3
Fixed an issue that caused tons of lag, game should be back to baseline performance now.
Added a way to create new systems but no way to populate them yet.
Mod Framework v0.5.1
Fixed an issue where the patcher expected specific language packs and refused to install the Mod Framework without them.
Updated the Modding Documentation.
