HostBridge 1.0.2
Install
Download HostBridge-1.0.2-x64.msi below and double-click it.
That is the whole install. It registers the Windows service, starts it, and (for clients
that need TLS) trusts its own certificate on first run. No .NET runtime needed.
The service then listens on two loopback endpoints:
http://127.0.0.1:8971/mcp- Claude Code, Codex and other local CLI clientshttps://localhost:8443/mcp- clients that refuse plain http (Claude Desktop / Cowork connectors)
Verify with:
Invoke-RestMethod http://127.0.0.1:8971/healthzConnect Claude Cowork / Desktop
The installer also places the Cowork/Desktop extension and a setup guide in
C:\Program Files\HostBridge\. In Claude Desktop, open
Settings -> Extensions -> Advanced settings -> Install extension -> Browse...,
select HostBridge-1.0.0.mcpb from that folder, and click Install. The
mcp__hostbridge__* tools then become available to Claude Cowork and Claude chat.
Full steps, verification, and ASR-exclusion troubleshooting for Intune/Entra-managed
PCs are in INSTALL-COWORK.md in the same folder.
Connect Claude Code
Node ignores the Windows cert store, so use the http loopback endpoint:
claude mcp add --transport http hostbridge http://127.0.0.1:8971/ --scope userUninstall from Add/Remove Programs.
