xSysInfo v0.12.0 adds an optional MUI interface, expansion-board details, and a hard-disk installer, together with faster classic drawing and hardware-detection fixes.
New features
- MUI interface: Start with
MUIor theDISPLAY=muiToolType for a resizable window with Software, Hardware, Speed, Memory, Drives, and Boards pages. Requires MUI 3.8 or newer; the classic interface remains available without MUI. - Expansion-board details: Inspect Zorro AutoConfig flags, diagnostic ROM vectors, and logical memory sizes. Both interfaces support board details and name/decimal/hexadecimal display modes; PCI devices retain their class information. MUI sizes the details window to its contents.
- Hard-disk installation: The LHA now includes an AmigaOS Installer script, updated icons, catalogs, and the bundled Identify distribution. Reinstalling into an existing drawer is supported, with checks for file/drawer conflicts.
- Classic font selection: Select a compatible font with
FONT=name.sizeor theFONTToolType. Invalid or oversized fonts fall back to topaz.8.
Improvements and fixes
- Faster classic text, gradients, logo, and speed-ruler drawing through shared bitmap templates; paging refreshes only the Boards list body. The list shows 13 rows so entries stay above the buttons.
- Expanded hardware pages, a dedicated SCSI/DMA page, improved PPC reporting, and more complete reporting of mapped Kickstart ROM extensions.
- Safer hardware probes on 68010 and newer processors, preservation of Gary timeout settings during SCSI probing, and battery-memory access restricted to suitable RTC hardware.
- Updated Identify library and reduced timer-library call overhead for E-clock measurements.
- Reduced floppy loading-animation overhead. The ADF and LHA use the same MUI-capable executable; floppy copies of the program and libraries are packed to save space.
- Escape no longer quits the main interface accidentally, and opening a Workbench window preserves the mouse position.
Downloads
- LHA: Recommended for installation on a hard disk.
- ADF: Bootable floppy image.
- xSysInfo: Standalone executable.
- Identify packages: Complete user, developer, and PCI support distributions for the bundled Identify version.
